Courtney McNeal - Principal Consultant
Courtney McNeal is a Memphis native, civic innovator, and wellness curator whose work lives at the intersection of government, community, and culture. As the Founder and Principal of C. McNeal Consulting, she brings an unmatched ability to connect people, purpose, and place, blending civic impact with creative, experiential design.
With a background in public and nonprofit administration and experience as Chief of Staff and City Innovation Director at Innovate Memphis, Courtney has led initiatives focused on housing, transportation, workforce development, and digital inclusion. Her work has helped shape programs and partnerships that strengthen neighborhoods, expand access, and reimagine how Memphis moves and grows.
Civically, Courtney served as Co-Chair of Mayor Paul Young’s Transition Team, helping shape priorities for the administration’s first term. She also served as a Board Commissioner for the Memphis Area Transit Authority, where she contributed to improving mobility and access for residents across the city. In addition, she was selected to join Leadership Tennessee’s NEXT Cohort X, a statewide network of emerging leaders committed to advancing innovation and collaboration across sectors.
Her leadership and impact have earned recognition across the state, including Memphis Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, Memphis Health and Fitness Magazine’s 20 Under 40, and the University of Memphis David C. Cox Distinguished Alumni Award, where she was honored in 2025 as the first recipient of this prestigious award. In October 2025, she was also recognized by the Memphis Business Journal as one of the city’s Women Who Lead.
Beyond her professional and civic accomplishments, Courtney is passionate about movement, wellness, and community connection. Her signature experiences, Fitness Under the Stars and Soul88, reflect her belief that wellness is not only personal but also deeply communal, creating spaces that inspire people to move, connect, and feel seen. She will officially launch Soul88 in 2026, introducing an elevated wellness and lifestyle movement that celebrates strength, style, and self-expression.
Courtney is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and the Junior League of Memphis, where she continues to champion leadership, service, and sisterhood in every space she enters.
